Officially Confirmed Stage
Huawei used HDC 2026 to open the HarmonyOS 7 Developer Beta. Its official announcement frames the preview around an agent-friendly system architecture, HarmonyOS Agent Framework 2.0, spatial computing, more proactive security, performance modeling, and cross-device integration.
This is a developer-preview milestone. It is not evidence that a stable HarmonyOS 7 release is broadly available.
Official Capability Map
Agent and Skill Development
Huawei's API 26 page describes a developer-facing path for creating, testing, reviewing, and publishing Skills. It also opens system and model capabilities for Agent construction, supports A2A access for existing Agents, and provides visual AI foundations and scenario controls.
Together with the HDC announcement, this supports a direction in which applications expose capabilities to system-level intelligent entry points. It does not prove that every listed integration is already available in every application or device configuration.
Spatial, Cross-Device, Media, and Windowing
The official API 26 material lists immersive-light components, on-device 3DGS reconstruction, tap-to-share targeting a specific window and coordinate, composable spatial-audio processing, animated interactive cards, and a persistent floating service window that can move or collapse into a side area.
These are documented platform capabilities for developers. Their presence in the capability catalog does not establish identical end-user availability across devices, applications, regions, or software builds.
Security, Performance, and Developer Resources
Huawei documents a protected local risk-control engine, distributed digital identity, and trusted transaction controls. It also lists application and game launch work, connection preparation, QUIC support, weak-network live-streaming improvements, LTPO variable refresh, an evolved spatial design language, development tools, and HarmonyOS 7 cloud-device testing.
Huawei's HDC material separately describes upgraded anti-fraud protection and a performance model, while noting that specific support depends on devices, services, versions, and later updates.
Secondary Reporting Context
The following details come from IT Home's reporting of Huawei presentations and developer-channel material. They add context, but they are not treated as independent primary confirmation:
- XiaoYi was presented with planning, tools, memory, execution, multi-device coordination, and system capabilities exposed as Skills.
- Developer Beta 1 reporting included a recruitment window, an initial device list, development-tool improvements, and AI-assisted programming features.
- Launch coverage reported vendor performance percentages and an intended autumn opening to consumers.
These reported details remain attributed to IT Home and do not determine this brief's Evidence · High level. That level rests on the two linked Huawei records supporting the core findings above.
What Remains Unverified
The selected evidence does not establish a stable-release date, comprehensive rollout, final feature scope, complete device eligibility, consistent third-party application support, independent performance results, or availability outside the stated China developer context.
Future stable-release material should be reviewed as a separate update rather than silently extending this Developer Beta record.
